Harvey’s catastrophic flooding will continue to threaten fellow Texans, some of whom are seeking refuge in North Texas in increasing number.
This week GRACE was visited by over 20 families that are either seeking refuge in Northeast Tarrant County or are en route to family and friends for shelter. Each of these families’ needs were basic– food, toiletries, gas cards, vouchers, groceries, diapers, wipes, baby formula, etc.
As we anticipate more families seeking assistance in the coming days and weeks, GRACE is prepared to continue to provide these most basic human needs.
These efforts will continue for as long as each family is in need.
While it’s the community’s instinct to replace damaged goods with used clothing and housewares, residents are being asked to refrain from donated used goods at this time.
However, Food Pantry donations are critically needed to ensure we have adequate supplies to meet daily needs. Inventory at the Food Pantry is historically low in the month of September. GRACE will need substantial support to meet both the ongoing operational needs and those of families seeking haven in Northeast Tarrant County.
Donations marked to help families affected by Hurricane Harvey can be made online here.
GRACE is working with each of these displaced families to find and secure shelter, clothing, and food. Some of the most pressing needs include:
- Gas cards
- New socks and underwear
- Diapers, wipes and baby formula
- Stocked food found on our Food Pantry List. Download the most current list here.
- Donations marked to help families affected by Hurricane Harvey can be made online here.
All food donations can be dropped off to the GRACE Food Pantry, 837 E. Walnut Street in Grapevine, during operational hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday 12:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Your earnest prayers are requested on behalf of the families facing tremendous loss. Please pray for personal strength for each family member, and wisdom for GRACE and community leaders.
On behalf of the families we serve and those we have yet to serve, we are grateful in advance for your response to the needs of those hurting in the community.
