The City of Grapevine and Keep Grapevine Beautiful are hosting an event to collect recyclables. While the service is free to Grapevine residents, citizens are encouraged to bring at least one canned or dry food item to help replenish stock at the GRACE Food Pantry.
Toys on behalf of the Santa Cop program will also be accepted, and educational demonstrations and giveaways will also take place, courtesy of Keep Grapevine Beautiful.
This isn’t only a great way to support local programs that give back to local families facing hardship, it’s an ideal time to shred those boxes of paper, or get rid of those pesky ink cartridges, old cell phones or packing peanuts that have made their home in your garage. (Find the complete list of accepted items here.)
EVERY FOOD DONATION MATTERS
When each family extends their resources by buying extra groceries on behalf of families in need, their portions are totaled with hundreds of like-minded families who do the same, amassing enough food to ensure that no child or parent face hunger insecurity when faced with a difficult season.
It’s the ‘little by little’ philosophy that helps family members come to the GRACE Food Pantry with nothing, and leave with enough to stock their cupboards with ingredients for warm, nutritious meals.
Non-perishable items are requested for community events, but a complete grocery needs list can be found here, and dropped off at the Food Pantry during operational hours.
About the GRACE Food Pantry:
The Client Choice Food Pantry provides perishable and non-perishable food to individuals and families in need. The Food Pantry utilizes a voucher system for GRACE clients to shop and select the food items that meet the cultural and dietary needs of their households.
